KIDS Catch & Release Any Fish Derby – Free Entry!
Featuring Special Kids Derby (age 3 – 15)
The goal of the Kids Division is to teach children that fishing can be fun and that Click photo to enlarge – 2014 Kid Winners! it is also fun and good to release fish. Kids registration is FREE and all they have to do to be entered into the Kids Division drawing is to catch and release any fish (any species, any size). We will draw names from a hat full of all the kids’ names that released any fish for the prizes.
With the help from our sponsors and supporters there will be enough prizes so that every kid goes home with something! We do our best to make sure that the kids have a great time and learn something about our fishery. Starting in 2023 and expanded thru 2024 kids will also be able to fish from Pittsburg Marina!!! Kids Division Pier Fishing!!!
No Boat Required & Gear and Instruction is Available for All Kids!!!!
This year we will be expanding our Pier Fishing program for the Kid’s Division! We will provide instruction and assistance for all kids, and can also provide fishing gear at no charge. Pier Officials will also be able to assist with the netting of fish. Children must be accompanied by an adult or guardian (16 years of age or older). Please see the 2018 Kids Rules for more information

The top Sturgeon Pro’s will lead a panel revealing their secrets to finding and landing Sturgeon, including Q&A from the audience. The evening will include lots of great Raffle prizes to support the success of the derbies to come.

Fishing License & Sturgeon Report Card
Important Message for All Anglers, Big and Small….
ADULTS: You MUST get your Fishing License and Sturgeon Report Card BEFORE Derby Day!
KIDS: The Kid’s Division of the Derby is, “KIDS CATCH AND RELEASE ANY FISH DERBY” and the idea is for kids to have fun fishing. To be entered in the drawing they only need to catch and release any fish (Bass, Flounder, Kingfish, Bullhead, whatever). If you will have children (under 16) fishing with you, they do NOT need a Fishing License. Because they are targeting other fish (any fish) AND must release any fish they catch, they do NOT need to get a Sturgeon Report Card.
